The more I think about the environmental benefits from artificial turf, the more I appreciate it. For example, for a typical residence with about 7,650 square feet of turf, the use of artificial, synthetic turf can conserve approximately 22,000 gallons of water per year. Now that is also huge water bill savings. And, of course, artificial turf requires no fertilizer, no pesticides, no mowing and reduces urban runoff caused by irrigation. Artificial turf also reduces the amount of green waste, like lawn clippings, going into landfills.
